The ubiradio.uk website
ubiradio.uk is a portal website. Our aim is to bring focus to our own carefully selected content hosted on other external platforms (Mixcloud, Soundcloud, Twitch etc).
Our website exists solely for the purpose of artist expression and no person or persons at UBI Radio profit in any way whatsoever from any associated activities nor from any content we choose to share on ubiradio.uk.
UBI Ethics
In no particular order…
- Keep the memory and spirit of our fallen friend DJ Kim alive and kicking
- Respect others
- Keep it fun
- Promote Mental Health awareness
- Keep all UBI Radio things as simple and as transparent as we possibly can
+ other good stuff
UBI Radio has a zero tolerance policy towards harassment, discrimination and any other unsavoury behaviour. We reserve the right to remove any content that we deem unacceptable (or even out-of-context), without hesitation nor explanation. We also reserve the right to disable and/or remove any user accounts as we see fit and also without explanation.
Transparency & Simplicity
It is the intention of UBI Radio to keep everything we do as transparent and as simple as practically possible.
Data collection
UBI Radio and the ubiradio.uk website does not purposefully collect any of your personal data (nor meta-data including usage statistics etc) without having your prior consent.
In-fact we pro-actively look for ways to destroy any non-essential data.
Cookies
What are Cookies?
For those who don’t know… “Cookies” are tiny text files that get downloaded into your we browser (Chrome, Safari etc) that contain some uniquely identifiable information so that the website remembers you when you are moving from page-to-page. A common example is the “logged in status” data which keeps you logged in as you visit new pages on any given website.
ubiradio.uk uses Cookies mostly for…
- Keeping users Logged (as described above)
- Remembering your preferences for when you return to the website
Performance
We use a shared vps a server at GoDaddy along with many other websites hosted there so page loading times can be painfully slow during busy times. Due to the fact that we are currently (and probably always will be) running on a near-zero-bucks budget, we do not envisage upgrading to a faster system any time soon. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
Up/Down voting
We reserve the right to “reset” any/all counts. Before you ask… we have absolutely no other control over the actual counting so we can’t fake Up-vote nor Down-vote number like others sometimes do. We also have no means of discovering who up-voted/down-voted for what, nor where or when any voted was submitted. Votes are completely anonymous.
Membership
Members of UBI Radio currently benefit from; accessing additional content, reserving their username in all of the chat windows/sessions, replying to comments and also have access to any new features as they are being developed.
Note: Fully fledged membership is currently only available to personal “friends” of UBI Radio. So speak to one of the UBI Crew if you want in.
Search Engines & Social Media
You probably won’t be able to find us via Google nor any form of Social Media. Here’s why…
UBI Radio is intended for a close and personal community where most people know each other. Those who know, know. All of the people that we want are well aware of the Who? What? Where? etc, in regards to UBI Radio and the ubiradio.uk website. So we have absolutely no need or intention to compete with others. In-fact we purposely discourage Search Engines (Google etc) from even noticing our website. We have no official Facebook page nor Twitter account nor similar for UBI Radio and we doubt very much that we ever will. What you see is what you get and if you are fortunate enough to be one of they lucky people who have got as far as reading this boring disclaimer then fair play to you. We are very happy to see you here.
Advertising on ubiradio.uk
Put as simply as we can… We do not advertise. Well not in any meaningful sense anyhow. However, we may share occasional advertisements for either comical purpose or to bring attention to any particular “thing” that we think deserves a push.
Continual Live Development
Don’t be alarmed if you see any weirdness occurring on the ubiradio.uk website. We do all of our development on-the-fly without incurring any downtime. The flip side of this is that you are the poor people who have to endure the unease of any given aspect of the site that we are currently working on. An example of this may be a random red border appearing and looking all out-of-place. Deal with it. Don’t waste any time reporting such un-niceties, especially if you are not an active member/follower of the UBI Radio project as we only have the resources to keep our regulars and well known visitors engaged.
Disclaimer Disclaimer
UBI Radio knows that this Disclaimer is in no way complete and it is highly unlikely that the text on this page will solely protect us from the legal seagulls above. We therefore reserve the right to update this page and our approach to these matters as we see fit. If you are however a member and want to suggest an edit then please do that.
